How to use it
- Choose your CSV. The delimiter and encoding are detected for you.
- Check the preview. Numbers and dates are colored, so you can see what will be stored as a number; everything else stays text.
- Create the Excel file and download it.
Examples
007stays text (leading zero kept);12.5becomes the number 12.5;2024-01-15becomes a date.=1+1is stored as the text “=1+1”, not as a formula.
The workbook has one worksheet with a bold header row (optional freeze and filter). CSV files contain no formatting, so none is added beyond that. Numbers with more than 15 digits, with leading zeros or in exponent form are kept as text so no digits are lost. Line breaks inside cells are stored as single line feeds, as Excel does. Dates are recognized only in ISO form (2024-01-15 or 2024-01-15 10:30). Excel limits: 1,048,576 rows, 16,384 columns and 32,767 characters per cell; larger tables are refused with a clear message.
